TaikaBox is looking for three experienced dancers (male or female) to join the existing team of artists for a research project called: Please Switch on Your Mobile Phones, funded by ACW/Nesta/AHRC.

This is an audience development research project that involves working with a group of participants in a series of residencies, creating a short performance in front of an audience who interact with the creative process with their mobile devices. TaikaBox is looking for dancers who are creative, able to work as part of a team and have the ability to make quick artistic decisions under pressure.

The successful applicants will need to be available for all of the following dates:

a training day on Mon 14th April and three residencies in Wales: on 22nd – 26th April (Cardiff), 23rd – 28th June (Aberystwyth) and 22nd – 27th Sept (Llanelli) with a potential additional residency in London in mid-Oct.

TaikaBox is also looking for one male dancer to join the other four TaikaBox dancers to rework its  2012 production: Beyond the Body. The show will be re-developed to expand the fictional world of the five characters – The Seeker, The Shaman, The Runner, The Wanderer and The Sufi. The plan is to overlap this fictional world with the real one, with the characters encountering the general public through mini performances and installations in public and virtual spaces.

TaikaBox is looking for a male dancer for the role of the Sufi, who is the second dancer from the left at the beginning of the performance and has a solo at around 36:00 min. A link to the YouTube video of the show can be found at
