
In the world of Kalevala, Louhi was the most powerful witch in the northern lands – a wise and ruthless leader who could control storms with her magic. But how did she get to be this powerful?
The elderly Louhi returns to her childhood and the time when she became the fearless protector of the Nordics and the possessor of magical powers. Through dance, music, songs, spells and interactive projections, the tales of the three magical creatures who rewarded the girl Louhi with the powers of courage that eventually made her the leader of the Nordic people.
Louhi is a dance piece about friendship, strength and survival – a story about a little girl who did not bow to fate but created it herself. The performance, inspired by the pulse of Kalevala myths, brings an ancient tradition to life and brings it close to today’s audience.
