A performative artwork by Carina Ahlskog, visual artist and choreographer from Nykarleby. FALL is the second part of a two-part work that follows on from SPRING, performed in Chicago in Early 2024.

FALL is referencing both the autumn season and the act of falling. Through both pieces, Carina explores the cycles that occur in nature, where something dies to give life to something else. A process, where we, as individuals, can discover a rhythm of life that allows us to grow together.

Carina seeks the sculptural with a body in motion. By using the visual art context as a venue for choreography and dance she explores her surroundings, a search for new bodily movements where the meeting and the presence are central and the tension lies in the interaction that occurs. She is looking for a dialogue with her environment. Something she calls ”Embodied Spaces”. It is especially the everyday gestures that fascinates her. By using familiar elements, minimizing and excluding other, she wants to give a different view of what it means to be human.
